Founder’s Week Guidance: The following guidance will be strictly adhered to across Kappa Epsilon Psi Military Sorority Incorporated during the week of April 3 – 9, 2017 (Founder’s Week) and April 29 – 30th (Culminating Weekend). All planned activities are mandated for execution by all Sorors, (at all levels) during the designated time period.
Founder’s Week Theme: The 2017 Founders’ week theme “United in Sisterhood” represents the powerful representation of our fight to maintain the beautiful BOND of SISTERHOOD. We are women who know that we need the love and support of one another, as we continue to face our daily challenges. Our Sorority Promise keeps each of us “United in Sisterhood” and we must continue to be the light in each other’s lives that seal the bond and unique beauty of our sisterhood.
Mandatory Execution of Founders’ Week Activities:
Monday 3 April- Live Honorably a) Reset/Reshape – Each Soror take a moment out the day to reflect on why they joined KEY and rededicate themselves to the organization and vision of Kappa Epsilon Psi. b) Each Soror is responsible for reciting the Sorority Promise to begin and end their day. c) Common Denominator Day – Reach out to (3) different Sorors you have never met or talked with. Share the exchange/experience on a designated social site. (Six signifies the 6 years of KEY existence)
Tuesday 4 April- Assist Readily a) On this day all social media site profiles are changed to the sorority crest (correct crest not the one with the banner across the bottom) b) Offer Assistance! Whether it is to the sorority, a Soror or local organization in the community- Assist Readily today!!! c) “Pearl Girl Day” – all members wear the Sorority Colors and Pearls d) Local Chapters, groups of National Sorors or Regions, provide short videos or pictures of member’s together (with banners) saying “Happy Founders Day”. This is done from all around the world. (This will require prior coordination to ensure it is completed and ready for posting on Founders Day. e) Hashtag Day - #KappaEpsilonPsi ; #KEYGirl; #EliteProfessional; #WeRockPearls; #KEYPsi
Wednesday 5 April- Give Generously a) Add a Rose day – Sorors will do small random acts of kindness for another Soror (someone new) or send KEYmail; This action will require prior planning to ensure the Rose or KEYmail is received on this day and/or NLT Sunday 9 April.
Thursday 6 April- Speak Honestly a) NLT 2011hrs- Each Soror will reach out to (2) other Sorors telephonically to express your sisterly love for them. Friday 7 April- Protect Courageously (All) a) 2011hrs- Conduct a Sorority Wide Balloon Release (Purple or Pink) to HONOR the Founders and Remember the Sorors (Roses) of our Omega Chapter. b) Recite the Sorority Promise during the Balloon Release; re-dedication recite
Saturday 8 April- Labor Diligently (All Day Activities) a) Soror Saturday Breakfast b) Community Service which directly aligns with the mission of KEY; Honor-Unite-Mentor c) “Bonding” and fun event for Sorors; Be creative and joint events are encouraged d) Mandatory Class on “Sisterly Conflict Resolution” by an external source (Min 1hr) “MUST” be executed on this day for ALL Sorors. Time and placement should be determined at the applicable level; joint classes are authorized.
Sunday 9 April- Remain Loyal Ceaselessly (All Day Activities) a) Soror Sunday; Photos are taken at the conclusion of service b) Soror Brunch (or) Dinner; Immediately following service, Sorors will share a meal to share their positive experiences this week and in KEY.
